Barça Set to Play Inaugural Match at Upgraded Camp Nou this Saturday

The club confirmed they will play at the still-under-construction Camp Nou this Saturday. They will welcome Athletic Bilbao in La Liga two and a half years after they moved out to allow renovations to start.

“We envisioned this comeback. The moment has arrived. Home again at Spotify Camp Nou.”

Attendance will be limited with 45,401 fans can be present under the licence granted. When completed, it will accommodate almost 105,000 spectators, increasing from the former 99,000. The club said completed upgrades featured a renovated tunnel for players along with upgraded changing facilities.

Preparatory Events

Barcelona held an open training session on the home pitch in early November. Officials stated they were hoping for permission from Uefa to host the next European match against Eintracht Frankfurt next month at the stadium. Their recent games have been held at the Olympic Stadium.
